Hurricane Dennis: Trapped Wave
Scientists at FSU and NOAA [JessePedia] have announced a discovery of a "trapped wave" (a previously unknown hurricane storm surge phenomenon) that caused the abnormally high storm surge experienced in Apalachee Bay Florida (10 feet high, more than twice the NOAA forecast) during Hurricane Dennis in 2005.
