Cool Hi-Res Fay Rainfall Images and Loops!
Now that Tropical Storm Fay is officially dead (though she is still spreading heavy rainfall, lots of Tornado Warnings and a couple of reports through the Southeast), I thought I'd upload some hi-res charts of her rainfall for your viewing pleasure. First, from our courtesy AccuWeather SelectWarn, our TV weather display system, 7-day rainfall images suitable for wallpaper:
Storm-total rainfall amounts over 20 inches were as follows, according to the HPC (archived list of all amounts):

And finally, from AccuWeather.com, a 6-day animation of 24-Hour Radar Estimated Precip amounts (the amounts may not be accurate, but it's cool to see the movement of the storm). Notice that, because Fay's movement was so slow, she made patterns on the images that looked like a hurricane, complete with eye, something that doesn't usually happen when storms move faster and blur the amounts.
