I received the following information from Chris Burt [JessePedia], Author of "Extreme Weather" clarifying the Wisconsin snow records:

I also didn't cover the New Years Day Canadian Maritimes blizzard well - blog reader George sent in an article about it - the highlights:

- 11,000 Lost Power in Nova Scotia - Wind Gusts Over 100 KMH (62 mph) on Prince Edward Island - 49 CM (19.2 inches) of Snow at Charlottetown, PEI

Canadian expert Brett Anderson (PREMIUM | PRO) had linked to a statement by Environment Canada listing more totals, but it has been deleted from their site. He listed the top total as the 49 cm above.
