BC: $40m Damage, 13 Perish in WA
According to this article, the Insurance Bureau of Canada says that about $40 million in claims will be filed due to last week's damaging wind storm, that heavily damaged the famous Stanley Park when it downed over 1,000 trees. Sadly, 1,500 residents in British Columbia are still without power, nearly a week later.

Nearly 100,000 of people are still without power in western Washington state as well, where 13 lives have been claimed by carbon monoxide poisoning when people took grills or generators inside to heat their homes.
Another storm is in progress in the Northwest U.S. and British Columbia today; winds have gusted to 82 mph already at Cape Blanco, Oregon and 79 mph at Ellis Mountain, Montana.
