In response to my own post earlier about the 6-8 feet of lake-effect snow this week, here are some links to radar animations covering the last week. If you've never watched lake-effect snow snake across the land, this is your chance, it's pretty neat.
The first and probably most impressive is this Regional U.S. Radars Quicktime movie from AccuWeather.com RadarPlus, showing all lake-effect bands from U.S. radars between Sunday and today (Thursday). Disregard the static ground clutter (mountains), mostly in New York and Maine. If you have trouble viewing the Quicktime movies in IE7, save it to your desktop instead. Drag the time bar to move more quickly through the loop.
Next, check out the snow bands yesterday and today near Oswego, New York on these local radar animations from RadarPlus. Disregard the static ground clutter (mountains) in Lewis County. If you have trouble viewing the Quicktime movies in IE7, save it to your desktop instead. Drag the time bar to move more quickly through the loop.
LOCAL U.S. RADARS FEB. 7th - 8th
