Mostly warm the next several days, transient cold for some

The weather down south looks mainly warm for the next week or more. Sure, some cold fronts will move in and cool some folks down for a day or two and the colder intrusions might lead to bouts of ice in a few places. But for a lot of the South, it's going to feel like springtime for most of the next week, even late spring for some areas, particularly Florida.

It will stay quiet across the South until midweek, then a new storm will push through and cause a soaking rain and locally gusty storms over much of the Southeast again.

A storm moving in later this week will cause heavy rain that can lead to flooding, especially in areas that had very heavy snow this past weekend.

Heavy snow and ice is headed to the Carolinas and Virginia while the rest of the South sees soaking rain and thunderstorms.

A storm crossing the South this weekend will cause snow and ice in some areas and a potentially historic snowstorm in the North Carolina mountains and foothills.
