Heavy rain in the I95 corridor today ahead of new cold air mass

The two maps below show the pressure patterns from yesterday morning and this morning. Yesterday, a warmer southerly flow was taking over in the East, but today, cold air is advancing eastward from the Midwest. Today's forecast video follows the maps. Even though it will turn colder in the Northeast tonight and tomorrow, it will not be as cold as it was last weekend. However, colder weather will come in tomorrow night and Saturday. After a brief warmup in the Northeast early next week, the coldest air so far this winter will make it into the Midwest and then move east.
