An ongoing winter storm will shutdown travel and has the potential to be the biggest in years. Snow, sleet and freezing rain will continue, heavy at times into early Monday. A total of 6 to perhaps 10 inches is forecast for Center City. Snowfall of a foot or more is anticipated well north and west of the city with with less sleet and freezing rain. Amounts under 6 inches are in store for southern New Jersey and central Delaware, where the bulk of the storm will be sleet, freezing rain and perhaps even plain rain for a time. Streets and highways will be snow packed and slippery during much of the storm and for a time in the storm's wake. Frigid air following the storm will result in little or no natural melting for a few days.
