Even though an area of interest may hug the Gulf Coast at midweek, which could limit its ability to become a named tropical storm, the setup, as a tropical rainstorm, will release copious amounts of rain in southeastern Texas and Louisiana. Inches of rain may pour down in an hour’s time with the potential for a foot of rain or more to fall through the week along parts of the Gulf Coast. The Houston area will be at risk for rounds of significant and life-threatening flash flooding this week.
