A rapidly strengthening storm will bring heavy snow to southern Virginia and perhaps southeastern Delaware and part of the New Jersey coast with a blizzard possible in southeastern Virginia and in part of Delmarva, while the Philadelphia area will be on the northwestern flank of the accumulating snow this weekend. At this time, 1-3 inches of snow is most likely, beginning Saturday night and lasting into Sunday. The exact accumulation highly depends on the track of the storm. A storm that hugs the mid-Atlantic coast could bring heavier snow to the city, while a storm that drifts farther east may cause little to no snow to fall. Strong winds near the coast, combined with high astronomical tides, will lead to moderate coastal flooding on the bays and shoreline communities in New Jersey and Delaware.
