As a storm shifts from west to east, accumulating snow will push across Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire into Friday morning. Since much of the snow will fall at a time when there is no March sun to melt it, there is the potential for a few slushy inches of snow to accumulate, mainly on non-paved surfaces in Boston. A moderate accumulation of snow is most likely north and west of the city. However, the morning commute in and around the metro area is likely to be slippery. The snow will melt during the midday and afternoon hours. Fog may also slow travel for a time.
