Snowstorm to sneak past New York City at midweek
A major snowstorm will pass through southern Virginia, southern Maryland and northern North Carolina at midweek. At this time it appears that New York City will avoid the bulk of the snow from the storm. The best chance of an inch or more of snow will be on Long Island and the southern coast of New Jersey. Snowfall be only be more substantial if the storm tracks farther to the north at the last minute. Snow showers on Thursday from a storm in the Midwest can bring localized coatings to an inch of snow and slippery travel locally.
