Those planning to attend the Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory parade in Kansas City, Missouri, should prepare to wear their warmest coats after the team won in Miami on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers 31-20.

The parade will be held on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. and will end with a victory rally at Union Station at 1:30 p.m. CST.

It has been 50 years since the team's last Super Bowl win, and it was the first win for head coach Andy Reid. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes became the youngest quarterback to win the Super Bowl MVP honors at 24 years old, according to CNN.

The day of the parade, the high temperature is expected to reach 28 degrees Fahrenheit with a predicted low of 19 F, falling below the normal high of 42 F and normal low of 24 F. The AccuWeather RealFeel® Temperature will be in the middle teens in the morning. In the afternoon, when the bulk of the celebration will take place, the RealFeel® Temperature should only be in the upper teens.

There's a risk that flurries in the morning evolve into a steadier light snow as celebrations continue on Wednesday. The Kansas City Metro area will be on the northwestern fringe of a storm forecast to bring moderate snow to the central U.S.

"It's possible roads and sidewalks get slippery during the afternoon around Kansas City on Wednesday," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Alex Sosnowski said. "It will be a close call."

Dale Herl, superintendent of the Independence, Missouri, school district, tweeted that school is canceled for Wednesday due to a "Red Snow Day" for the victory parade.

Super Bowl Champions! We DO have school on Monday and Tuesday, but will have a Red Snow Day on Wednesday for the parade. No school Wednesday, February 5th. Early Ed Centers and Kids Safari sites are also closed on Wednesday. pic.twitter.com/yEdomuWCpl

Additional districts have also canceled school on Wednesday, with many tweeting their announcements and adding “how ‘bout those Chiefs!" Hickman Mills School District, Kansas City Public Schools, Blue Valley Schools, Smithville Schools, Grain Valley Schools and Liberty Public Schools were among the schools who canceled classes.
