AccuWeather Launches Windows 10 App, Providing All-New Weather Experience for Windows Users

Enhanced AccuWeather app provides appealing new look and universal experience across all screen sizes.

AccuWeather Global Weather Center – December 15, 2015 – AccuWeather, the global leader in weather information and digital media, today announced the launch of the new AccuWeather Weather for Life app for Windows 10. With the new AccuWeather app release, users can stay connected to the most relevant, localized forecasts with Superior Accuracy™ to make informed decisions throughout their day, on any Windows devices they use.

AccuWeather’s new and improved app for Windows 10 provides a fresh new interface and design with clean lines, colors, and modern icons, making the digital experience more appealing, intuitive, and easier for users than ever before, using Microsoft’s grid design principles. The new universal app experience across Windows 10 devices – including desktop, tablets, and mobile devices – provides a consistent design experience across multiple screen sizes.

Additional AccuWeather Windows 10 app innovations includes improved location management functionality and a streamlined settings menu for easy customization and personalization. AccuWeather’s weather information has been integrated with Cortana to include voice activated phrases within the app, allowing users to say “Cortana, What is my AccuWeather forecast?” and receive the local forecast.

The updated app offers users the latest in weather forecasting, complete with weather news and information, as well as severe weather alerts and notifications, interactive weather animations illustrating current weather forecasts, hourly forecasts for the next 24 hours, and animated weather radar and maps. Other popular features include detailed day/night forecasts, local forecast summaries, forecast previews for the next 3-5 days, and the ability to set live tiles to multiple locations so forecasts automatically update on the Start screen.

The app provides unique features such as the patented AccuWeather MinuteCast®, the only global, minute-by-minute forecast which provides 120 minutes of precipitation information for users’ exact street addresses or GPS locations, and AccuWeather’s proprietary RealFeel Temperature®, a precise representation of how temperatures actually feel to people outdoors.
