Must-have bathroom accessories for winter
Winter is coming and we are quickly moving through fall. We've busted a few of the popular myths so you can enjoy winter care-free.
As the temperatures continue to dip and the first snowflakes fall, more people spend more time indoors. It's the perfect way to stay warm, dry, and cozy. For most people, the bed is the coziest spot in the house. This winter, it's a great idea to change things up a bit. While you'll want to make sure your bed is extremely comfortable, why not work on making sure your bathroom feels like a luxurious experience whenever you walk into it? Consider the following accessories you can purchase to prepare for winter.
1. Moisturizing Cleansers
Many dermatologists and skincare experts admit to using a different skincare routine in the winter than they do during summer. This makes sense because the skin has different needs because of the different seasons. A universal issue is dryness. More people experience significant amounts of dryness during the colder months. To combat this, it's great to consider your products within layers. Instead of focusing on moisturizing with body butters, lotions, and body oils. Start by using a moisturizing body wash and facial cleanser. When a cleansing solution moisturizes, it still cleans the skin. However, the key is that it's less likely to strip your skin of necessary oils.

2. In-Shower Body Lotion
The in-shower body lotion is the perfect invention for those who struggle to moisturize their skin while it's still damp. Typically, experts encourage people to allow their skin to get damp before they slather on the lotion. The goal is to lock in as much moisture as possible. Unfortunately, the window tends to be so small. All a person has to do is brush their teeth and walk to the bedroom before their skin dries. Thankfully, you can use in-shower body lotion. It'll slide onto the skin with ease. Plus, the skin will absorb the moisture really well. If you'd like to enjoy a shower a little longer and skip a step once you get out, use an in-shower body lotion.
3. Towel Warmers
There's nothing like turning off the hot water once a shower is over. Most people dread it because they're going to get hit with the cold air. However, you can keep the comfort of the heat when you use a towel warmer. Most towel warmers take a few moments to work. If you place the towel on the towel warmer before you head into the shower, you'll be able to enjoy the comfort and beauty of stepping out of the shower into a warm cocoon.
4. Thick Bathrobe and Slippers
Purchase an extremely cozy and large bathrobe. Bathrobes tend to be staples in five-star hotels. Pretend you're creating a hotel-like experience at home. Whether it's made of terrycloth or the thickest cotton material you can find, pick a robe that hugs you when you're ready to take off your towel and settle into something comfortable for the evening.

5. Steamer/Steam Shower
The colder months tend to be extremely drying. The skin requires a lot of hydration during this time. In addition to drinking lots of water and using the right moisturizer, regularly introduce your skin to steam. One of the best ways to do this is to use a steam shower or a facial steamer. If you'd like to install a steam shower, you can experience this luxury every day. Otherwise, you can keep a steamer at your sink. Whenever you're ready to use it, you can sit at the sink to get infused with a fresh dose of hydration. Add essential oils to the water to encourage cell stimulation and rejuvenation.

6. Fresh Eucalyptus Leaves
During the colder months, tons of people get sick. While it's important to check the weather before you get dressed every morning, you'll also want to boost your immune system to protect yourself from the germs of others. In addition to drinking lots of water and consuming Vitamin C, take care of your sinuses by hanging some eucalyptus leaves on the showerhead. Once you have a hot shower running, the steam from the heat will mix with the eucalyptus will release a fragrant aroma that's great for the sinuses, potential colds, and more.
As you work on developing the perfect look for your bathroom, don't forget to pay attention to the way you feel. If it feels dingy or old, it might be time for a fresh coat of paint or some new fixtures. By the time you're finished, you might find yourself spending more time in the bathroom than any other place in the house.
