Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...High surf of 9 feet along north facing reefs and high risk or rip currents along north and east facing reefs are expected drop briefly today. Then as the northeast trade swell builds through the weekend, hazardous surf of 9 feet or greater will develop along north facing reefs and support a high risk of rip currents along north and east facing reefs. Surf could reach up to 12 feet along north and east facing reefs, extending hazardous surf to east facing reefs. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Rip currents will be life threatening.
