Forecast high river levels today may lead to flooding. Flooding is possible from overnight on 14 December 2025 until the morning of Tuesday 16 December 2025. This flood alert covers land around the River Holme and its tributaries including Meltham, Newhill and the Ribble. Locations most affected will be low lying land and roads near rivers. There will be persistent rain overnight on the 14 December which will continue until the early hours of Tuesday morning and this will likely impact rivers. We are closely monitoring the situation . Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses. This message will be updated by 12:00PM on 15 December 2025 or as the situation changes.
