yellow warning - winter storm - in effect Hazardous winter conditions are expected. Locations: Victoria, Inverness, Antigonish, and Pictou Counties, as well as northern Colchester County. Total snowfall: 25 to 40 cm, possibly higher over higher terrain. Maximum wind gusts: northwesterly 80 to 90 km/h. Remarks: Snow, heavy at times is forecast to develop and continue into Monday afternoon over northeastern portions of mainland Nova Scotia and potentially into Monday night in western Cape Breton. Heaviest accumulations are expected to be during the overnight hours tonight in the mainland and during daylight hours Monday across Cape Breton. Snowfall rates of several centimetres per hour are possible. Winds will increase out of the north tonight and increase further as they shift to northwesterly on Monday. These winds will combine with freshly fallen snow and falling temperatures to reduce visibility in blowing snow. ### Roads and walkways may be very difficult to navigate. Visibility may be suddenly reduced to near zero at times. Prolonged utility outages are possible.
