special weather statement in effect Accumulating snow continues. Locations: western and northern Newfoundland. Time span: ending this morning on the west coast and this afternoon on the Great Northern Peninsula. Additional snowfall: 2 to 5 cm, highest on the Great Northern Peninsula. Peak wind gusts: northwesterly 60 to 90 km/h. Remarks: Strong winds occurring in conjunction with the fresh snowfall will cause blowing snow over exposed areas.
