yellow warning - cold - in effect A multi-day episode of very cold wind chills continues. What: Wind chill values ranging from minus 50 to minus 55. When: Now through early next week. Where: Dawson, Mayo, Faro - Ross River, Pelly - Carmacks, and Beaver Creek. Remarks: An Arctic ridge of high pressure is bringing very cold conditions to the central Yukon. Light winds combined with frigid temperatures have the potential to give extreme windchill values. Wind chill values will moderate this afternoon but will return to minus 50 or lower beyond today. ### Extreme cold puts everyone at risk. Watch for cold related symptoms: shortness of breath, chest pain, muscle pain and weakness, numbness and colour change in fingers and toes. Cold warnings are issued when very cold temperatures or wind chill creates an elevated risk to health such as frost bite and hypothermia.
