Flash floods and tornado damage from Arthur caused an estimated $4 billion to $6 billion in total damage and economic loss.
Between June 15-19, 2026, rounds of heavy rain from Tropical Storm Arthur impacted areas from Texas to Alabama. Over that five-day period, rainfall exceeded 10 inches in parts of the region, with some locations in central Louisiana receiving around 30 inches. On June 10, 2026, AccuWeather produced and disseminated a Storm Potential Outlook (SPO) to its AccuWeather for Business (AFB) customers that subscribe to the service, warning that heavy rainfall could lead to flooding from eastern Texas to western North Carolina the week of June 15, 2026. The SPO was sent to AFB customers between four and five days BEFORE the NWS and all other known sources issued flood watches within the threat area.

Roads became impassable, vehicles were stuck in the high water, and creeks flooded.
