The Memorial Day weekend will begin cool, windy and rainy in New England and part of the mid-Atlantic.
Many spots are still dealing with storms this morning and some are even dealing with snow.
GOES-East failed again late Tuesday. It is one of the main satellites meteorologists use for the eastern part of the United States and the tropical Atlantic.

The same system that spawned deadly tornadoes in Oklahoma will reach the Northeast on Thursday.
The focus for severe storms will move into the Ohio Valley and resume over New York state on Wednesday.
Gusty storms capable of small hail and destructive winds will continue over the eastern Ohio Valley and Northeast Wednesday evening. Heavy rain will also produce some travel delays.
