Severe Weather Alerts - Lisburn, Lisburn

  • Yellow Warning for Ice

Yellow Warning for Ice in effect until 10:00 AM GMT. Source: Met Office National Severe Weather Warnings

Following this afternoon's rain, sleet and snow, temperatures will fall this evening allowing ice to form on untreated surfaces. Showers arriving during the night, with snow on hills, will allow temperatures to rise somewhat, though they will locally dip again at times, prolonging the risk of localised icy patches into Saturday morning. The public should be aware of this wintry hazard. The depression which has passed eastwards over southern Ireland brought a wintry mix of precipitation to Northern Ireland. Breaks in the cloud will allow road surface temperatures to fall this evening with some ice likely. A weak occlusion coming in from the north overnight may well allow temperatures to rise again, though the risk of local icy patches persists through the night. The public is advised to take extra care, further information and advice can be found here: http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/warnings/
