This interactive map helps you locate recent lightning activity within the past thirty minutes. Activating the playbar shows lightning activity in five minute increments. The toggle button below allows you to display radar in conjunction with lightning to better assess conditions, and the radius rings make it easier to see whether lightning has occurred within ten or thirty miles of a selected location. When zooming out to wide areas, we cluster lightning activity and provide numeric labels to provide a sense of how much lightning activity has been occurring.
