Two rounds of storms, then colder
A powerful storm system will bring a round of severe storms to parts of the South during the first part of the week, which will include a risk for tornadoes. A second storm will bring a less serious risk for storms later in the week. Behind the second storm, much colder air will move in for a while, and it looks as though it will stay cold through the first part of next week. Many areas will have their first frost and freeze of the season during this time. Out in the tropics, the Atlantic is quiet, and we still have Xavier in the Pacific, which is causing heavy rain in Mexico and will remain a source of moisture.
