Last storm for a while, quieter with a warmup next week

A storm crossing the south through Monday will cause a variety of problems including soaking rain and severe storms. It's also cold enough for snow on the storm's northern fringe. Parts of the Appalachians will have a good bit of snow, but this looks to be the last storm we'll have to deal with for a while. The weather pattern is changing a little, and we'll have a spell of quieter weather and a warming trend beyond Monday. Storm systems moving across the nation starting next weekend will track to the north and will have the potential to be severe storm producers. Will it be time to say "winter's over" on Tuesday? Watch the video to hear what I think.

A generally quiet regime will be in place until Wednesday, even though sunshine will be limited in many places by high clouds streaming in from the Pacific. Things change at midweek as a new storm system takes shape...
