Forecaster Challenge, presented on AccuWeather.com, is an educational game developed and operated by CX®, a United States regulated exchange, that allows users to make predictions based on high temperature, rainfall, snowfall and hurricane landfall locations.

Registered users of Forecaster Challenge now have the opportunity to convert each 50,000 AccuDollars they accumulate at Forecaster Challenge into a $10 deposit at CX, up to a maximum of $100. Any user with at least 50,000 AccuDollars in their account may begin the conversion process by logging into their Forecaster Challenge account and clicking on the invitation banner at the top of the page.

CX is offering this incentive to build interest in tropical storm forecasting and kickstart its financial market for tropical storm protection, which will be launched on Aug. 15, 2018, under the name TradeWx. This market will allow individuals and small businesses to obtain protection against the financial risks of Atlantic storms.

CX’s TradeWx brand, pronounced "Trade Weather", is a weather trading marketplace for tropical storms and other types of weather events. CX expects to provide an expanding set of financial products relevant to individuals and small businesses, including financial firms, on temperature (high and low), precipitation (snow and rain), and other potentially costly weather risks.

When participants sign up for Forecaster Challenge the first time, they will receive 25,000 AccuDollars, which is halfway to earning the first $10 CX deposit. An additional 3,000 AccuDollars are earned for visiting the Forecaster Challenge site and can be claimed on a regular basis. Participants may also use their AccuDollars to forecast weather events and earn more AccuDollars when their forecasts are correct or lose those AccuDollars if their forecasts are incorrect. Of course, other than the incentive program offered by CX, AccuDollars have no intrinsic value and are used only to measure success within the game.

CX rules provide that participants may convert 50,000 AccuDollars into $10 cash each day and can earn a possible total of $100 provided they register on-line for a CX TradeWx account. Funds will be deposited into their CX TradeWx account and participants may use their converted deposits to trade CX’s weather products as soon as they are available. Trading CX’s TradeWx markets is not required and converted funds may be withdrawn beginning Oct. 1, 2018.
