Watch Out: Severe Storms in NE July 4, 5
Meteo Madness Man (PREMIUM | PRO) had that wry smile on his face this morning that indicates he's seen something interesting on the Forecast Model [JessePedia] maps for us here in Central PA. Indeed, he's talking today in his blog about the potential for severe weather both Wednesday July 4th and Thursday. Residents in the Northeast should stay aware of their local weather situation as to not become a statistic of severe weather injury or fatalities during July 4th celebrations.
Henry's favorite Severe Weather Index [JessePedia], "Storm-Relative Helicity," indicates that "Violent Tornadoes" could be possible in New England on Thursday, according to the NMM model. The SPC [JessePedia] has the Ohio Valley in a Slight Risk already for Day 3 (Wed.) and has the Northeast in an interest area on Day 4 (Thu.). Given that they are thinking about it this early, it could be a memorable mid-week period.
