The New, Improved Photo Gallery

I am pleased to announce that AccuWeather.com has launched the new version of our Photo Gallery, featuring thousands of weather (and other) photos submitted by readers like you. I oversaw the development of the gallery and am thrilled to see it go online.

A screenshot is shown above; you can view the live gallery here. If you are a member of our Premium or Pro subscription websites, you will see the Photo Gallery without advertisements.

Some of the big changes incorporated into this release include an easier-to-use interface for both photographers and visitors, advanced search capability, and a tagging system. Our photographers will note that we are now accepting photos with no width or height restrictions, and they will also enjoy an easier uploading and editing process.

The front page now shows Moderator's Picks (the best recent weather photos) based on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.

If you run your own website, you can show photos from our Gallery on your website. You can choose from an array of sizes and selections, for example showing those Moderator's Picks or Random photos, or photos on a particular topic or from an individual photographer.

I may be the most frequent uploader, with 794 photos donated so far, but we have a lot of very talented photographers sending us incredible photos every day.
