Photos: Spring Breaks Across Nation
The following are some photos submitted by our Photo Gallery users last week, showing the advent of spring across the country.
MAR685 snapped this wonderful shot at the Washington D.C. Cherry Blossom Festival on March 30. You can find out more information about the festival here; unfortunately we already missed the good stuff on the webcam.
User sage emory shows us that things are already quite green in Texas and this Bridal's Wreath Spirea is in full-bloom.
sage adds: "The horses are busy doing Texas Landscaping"
Weathertop shows a jetty on a New Jersey beach, just waiting for those sun-bathers and swimmers to flock to the shore. AccuWeather.com Professional sea-surface temperature maps confirm that the water there is still frigid, of course, but you wouldn't know it from this photo.

And last but not least, Spring is falling behind in Northern California. Photographer dogfoodman says:
"This photo is a vineyard in Redwood Valley, CA taken 4-8-06 during a well deserved break in the rain."
"This billy Goat seems to be enjoying a spring break to freedom (he is on the road side of the fence) and a chance to get at that "greener" grass on the other side of the fence. This is one of our few breaks in the rain this spring, 4-8-06."
