New England Blizzard & Lake-Effect >40 Inches

By Jesse Ferrell, AccuWeather meteorologist

UPDATE: I have updated the totals below and here are some reports from Ski Slopes:

Bretton Woods, NH: 40" Peek'n Peak, NY: 38" Big Powderhorn, MI: 34.0" Cannon Mountain, NY: 31.0" Sugarloaf, ME: 28.0"

Sorry I was unable to blog yesterday, folks, I was backing up the computer hard drive and archiving my emails for 2010, and it ended up taking all day. Here's a preliminary list of selected totals from the New England Blizzard and lake-effect:

FACEBOOK FANS:

Justin G. from Winooski, VT: 30" David C. from Burlington, VT: 25" Aaron G. From Syracuse, NY: 15" Eric C. from Sugarloaf, ME: 18" Kelly D. from North Syracusse, NY: 15" Veraine T. from Yarmouth, Nova Scotia: 12" Elizabeth E. from Northeast OH: 12"

Facebook Fan Eddie B. sent in this incredible photo from Maine (there are plenty of stories of cold on Facebook as well, check out this picture of a frozen fountain in Georgia).

NWS SPOTTERS:

Fulton, NY: 42.0" South Burlington, VT: 33.1" Saint Joseph, MI: 26.0" Randolph, NH: 21.0" Randolph, ME: 19.0" Billerca, MA: 13.0" Staffordville, CT: 10.0" North Foster, RI: 7.0"

You can look at the NWS snow totals map if you'd like though their observations are missing in parts of Maine and it's impossible to tell the Blizzard from the lake-effect.
