INT: Jerusalem Flooding, Asia Snow
INTERNATIONAL WEATHER BRIEFS:
Severe flooding was reported in Haifa, Jerusalem and heavy snow fell at Mount Hermom. Forecasts had called for a possible rare White Christmas in Bethlehem but there were no reports out of the city as of yet to confirm that and Fox News described the weather as "cold and rainy."
Six people were killed by a lightning-sparked fire at a Christmas celebration in South Africa, Reuters reported.
Heavy snow continues in China and Japan. In Weihai, China, the snow is said to be the heaviest since the city began keeping track (in 1959). Click here for that reference, along with several photos. In Japan, some areas of the Hokiruku region have 2.75 m (9 feet) of snow on the ground, and another 60 cm (two feet) was expected to fall yesterday (article).
