Hurricane Barry drops 2 feet of rain
Hurricane Barry made landfall Saturday, July 13, and dropped up to 2 feet of rain inland over the next few days. The map below shows rainfall from July 10 to July 17 because I very much wanted to include the immense flooding in New Orleans on July 10, which was the day before Barry formed, but clearly a result of his forming in the Gulf.

Some of the highest rainfall amounts were:
-
RAGLEY, LA: 23.58 inches
-
OBERLIN, LA: 18.16 inches
-
DIERKS, AR: 16.59 inches
-
MARKSVILLE, LA: 16.08 inches
-
MURFREESBORO, AR: 14.58 inches
-
GILLIS, LA: 14.96 inches
-
MOSS BLUFF, LA: 13.72 inches
-
PASS CHRISTIAN, MS: 13.30 inches

The 16.59 inches at Dierks, Arkansas, set a new record for tropical storm rainfall in the state (interestingly, the fifth such record to be set in the last two years!). This is what the state-by-state record tropical rainfall map looks like now:
