Extreme Weather Magazine
Folks, if you haven't yet, grab out a copy of Extreme Weather Magazine at your local newsstand or on ExtremeWeatherMag.com. This is the first new weather magazine in years, and it's a very flashy and informative issue put out by the folks over at Astronomy Magazine. In the video blog below, I show you some of what's inside.
I'll be reading it in-depth on vacation (the one time of year I actually read "paper media"), but I can already tell you that my favorite articles are as follows (click here for a complete table of contents):
Don't believe everything you've heard about the weather.
Ride along as legendary storm tracker Warren Faidley searches for the world's most dangerous photo opportunity.
Scientists understood lightning's electrical nature more than 250 years ago, but thunderbolts remain a subject of intense research.
Notoriously quick tempered, a supercell thunderstorm can go from docile to destructive in a few sweeps of a radar beam.
