June 2018 ranked in the top five warmest on record
Both NASA and NOAA have confirmed that June 2018 ranked in the top-five warmest Junes on record globally for land/ocean surface combined.

June 2018 averaged 0.77 of a degree Celsius above the 1951-1980 mean, making it the 3rd warmest June on record (tied with 1998). The warmest June on record occurred in 2015 with an anomaly of +0.80 of a degree Celsius.

In terms of the March-May 2018 period, it also ranked as the 3rd warmest such period globally, averaging 0.87 of a degree Celsius above the 1951-1980 mean.
As it stands now, we are currently on pace to be the 3rd warmest year on record, behind 2016 and 2017.
There are also signs that we may be trending toward El Nino conditions later this year, which may increase temperatures anomalies even more, especially toward November and December and into next year.
