The full moon is tonight! The April full moon is known as the pink moon. It has also been referred to as the fish moon, the egg moon and the sprouting grass moon.

No, it will not be a supermoon. Lunar perigee was last Friday, so it will just be your average-sized full moon; it will certainly be bright!

Just after the moon rises, Jupiter will appear above the horizon. Jupiter is so bright, it will be clearly visible despite the bright, full moon.

On Monday, Jupiter will appear even closer to the moon! The pair will rise side-by-side. You can track the pair across the sky all night. They will be the brightest two objects in the sky.

On Tuesday, another bright planet deserves attention: Venus. It will reach it's highest point in the evening sky. It has been in the evening sky for more than a month now. It will be a mainstay in the evening sky through most of the summer!

Heading into next weekend, there will be another meteor shower. The Eta Aquariids peak the night of May 6/7 with 10-30 meteors per hour, perhaps making it more active than the recent Lyrids.

Not too many things are free anymore; however, looking at the night sky is still one of those things. Thanks for reading! Just look up; you never know what you will see.
