I was lucky enough to be invited to and am planning to attend the East Coast Star Party (ECSP) by great friend and AccuWeather Astronomy on Facebook co-administrator Hunter Clifton Outten. I am very much looking forward to attending this event!

Here is some information on the ECSP:

East Coast Star Party (ECSP) Halloween Party (costume contest) Solar Eclipse Party. The eclipse is in progress at sunrise Sunday morning, Nov. 3. Join us for coffee and doughnuts by the Currituck Sound water’s edge. Expect to see a 40% eclipsed sun. Camera Concepts vendor will also be there.

When: Oct. 31 – Nov. 2 (Thursday, Friday and Saturday) PARTY ENDS SUNDAY MORNING, NOV. 3, AFTER THE SOLAR ECLIPSE. WHAT A WAY TO END A PARTY! Where: Hampton Lodge Campground in Coinjock, N.C. Star Party Fee: One time fee of $20 for the entire time star party. Register with Kent at the observing site. Camping Fees: If camping, register at the campground store. $20/night per campsite for primitive camping. Includes tens and trailers not requiring electricity. $30/night for trailers and R/V requiring electric, water but no sewage. The trailer sites with electricity and water are not in the observing area, but close by. $40/night for trailers requiring electric, water and sewage. Whether it’s clear or not, most people that have attended previously think it’s one of the most fun star parties of all. If you need additional information, contact Kent Blackwell at kent@exis.net.
