New Fall and Early Winter Computer Model Forecast Update

7/18/2011, 5:44:09 AM

The new ECMWF extended long-range monthly forecasts were just released, and here is what the model is predicting for mean weather pattern across Canada and the northern U.S. this upcoming autumn. It also gives us some ideas about the early winter, though I would take that with a grain of salt at this early time. Fall 2011 computer model forecast (Sept/Oct/Nov)

By the way, the new ECMWF monthly forecast also predicts a return to possible weak La Nina conditions by the end of fall. This is not the only model that has been trending in this direction.
