... Lightning and thunder in a snow band over New York state's Tug Hill Plateau. ... 7 inches of snow at Guys Mills, Crawford County, Pa. ... Tree limbs down and power outages in western Michigan. ... First snow of the season in the West Virginia mountains (see picture below).

Those reports are dramatic before Halloween, but most of the Northeast is simply having chilly and dry weather. This video explains why and what will happen this weekend.
