Cold with no major storms for the Northeast through the weekend
1. It is purple day at AccuWeather in support of increasing the number of women in scientific professions and promoting equal pay regardless of profession.
2. In memory of the puppy who lost its life yesterday when a flight attendant put the animal in an overhead bin, I am showing our bishon Scotty T. Dog (the T stands for The) wearing his coat in preparation for a winter walk. I read that the airline involved reported three times as many animal deaths on its flights than all other domestic airlines combined.
Scotty is almost 3 years old. When I take him outside, I notice him scanning the sky sometimes. Neither of our previous dogs did that.
3. This map shows the pressure pattern as of 8 a.m. ET today. Cold winds continue across the Northeast.
