A storm will gather a vast zone of snow and ice over the south-central United States Friday. During the weekend, around the same time Arctic air moves in, snow will overspread the Boston area on Sunday and continue at varying rates into Monday. There is the likelihood for enough snow to shovel and plow, with significant travel problems, depending on the track of the storm. Little to no natural melting is likely during and following the storm. Travel conditions will quickly deteriorate on Sunday and are likely to be difficult from later Sunday to Monday.
