Ophelia, which made landfall Saturday morning near Emerald Isle, North Carolina, will continue to bring showers and a gusty breeze to the City through the remainder of the weekend and into Monday. Over an inch of rain has already fallen over the City this past weekend and additional rainfall totals around an inch are possible through the end of the day on Monday. While this would not lead to widespread flooding issues, rainfall of this magnitude can continue to produce ponding of water on roadways and sidewalks, leading to travel delays. A blustery northeast wind of 15-25 miles per hour with gusts occasionally higher than that are also expected through Monday.
