...Strong System To Bring Gusty Winds, Heavy Rain, And Wintry
Weather To East Kentucky Today and Tonight...

A strong low pressure system will move through eastern Kentucky
today and tonight producing a myriad of weather impacts to the
region. Expect south winds to gust over 30 mph through this
afternoon with up to 50 mph wind gusts in the higher elevations.
Rainfall will be moderate but may fall heavy at times, with up to
an inch and a half of rainfall expected through this evening. By
tonight, the rain will change over to snow with up to an inch
expected across eastern Kentucky. Slightly more than an inch is
possible in the higher terrain.

Impacts from the gusty winds will be loose objects being blown
around. The heavy rainfall will result in the possibility of
mudslides, minor flooding of low lying areas, and rivers running
high from the recent rainfall. Winter weather impacts will arrive
overnight tonight and into Thursday morning with slick roads
possible for the morning commute.
