East Coast winters can be tough to deal with, even as a native. Seemingly endless days of white conditions and chilly weather can get the best of any person. It's time to take a trip out of the ordinary. Explore these top 7 warm winter getaways for every East Coaster. Depending on your budget, there's a trip just waiting for you.

Florida Keys

For people who want a short trip away from home, think about the Florida Keys. This unique getaway gives you a chance to explore various islands that are linked by convenient roadways. You might be in winter gear at home, but the Keys encourage flip-flops and tank tops worn each day.

Head out on a fishing trip or merely walk along the shore. A laid-back getaway is what you'll find in the Keys. Feel warm and rested as you return home after even a few days in the tropics.

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Discover a brand-new culture by visiting Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Winter is the perfect time to visit because the city has springlike temperatures. You might visit for New Year's Eve or February's Carnival.

Plan this getaway as early as possible so that you can secure the best hotel rates. It can get expensive for last-minute travelers.

Plan to be on the beach and in your swimsuit for most of this getaway. Brazilians are welcoming and free, which means you can let your hair down as the East Coast braces for more cold weather.

Galveston, Texas

Everything may be big in Texas, but Galveston is a small island. It feels like a warm reprieve from the busy mainland. Explore local shops and eateries with a stay in this beautiful city.

Gaze out on the cruise ships that continuously move passengers in and out of the city. You might take a short cruise from Galveston as a clever way to see more sights. Cruise costs are often lower in Galveston when compared to busier ports, such as Port Canaveral, Florida.

The Bahamas

You might take a long drive down the East Coast to Florida, where a short flight to the Bahamas is possible. Swim with native animals, enjoy sand bars, and many other beach-area delights in the Bahamas.

There are both large and small hotels in these areas, so do some research before heading out there. The weather is practically perfect year-round. Wintertime offers comfortable temperatures without too much heat or humidity. You can also benefit from lower prices than during the summer.

Mexico

There are plenty of getaways to Mexico that can work for any budget. Seek out areas closer to Central America where it'll be warm both day and night. Fly out to Cabo San Lucas, where the tip of Baja California will thrill any photography fan.

Acapulco and Cozumel are on Mexico's east coast, which can be easier and cheaper to visit than the west coast. Enjoy margaritas and tacos by the ocean as the warm temperatures encourage loose-fitting clothing and extended nights by a bonfire.

Arizona

Enjoy plenty of blue sky and sunshine in Southern Arizona. Tucson, Phoenix, Scottsdale, and surrounding communities have plenty of activities to excite you during a getaway. Golfing is a big deal in Arizona, along with hiking the beautiful rock formations found around the state.

Botanical gardens that focus on native desert plants are fantastic to explore with comfortable temperatures almost every day. Be aware of the local forecast so that you can dress appropriately. It may be chilly in the morning, but the afternoon offers a springlike sensation. Arizona is one place that's typically better to visit during the winter than in the summer.

Hawaii

There's no other place on Earth like Hawaii. You have your choice of several islands with their own distinct personalities. Visit Kauai, where it's referred to as the "Garden Island."

Explore the metropolitan flair of Honolulu, or hop over to Maui for some rest and relaxation. There's no real "off-season" in Hawaii because it almost always has spectacular weather.

Look for last-minute deals to Hawaii from the East Coast. It's possible to find a great deal even during the winter.

When you know that the winter will be particularly bad this year, plan your trip well ahead of time. You'll have your choice of airline seats and hotels. A single getaway can give you a mental reset that's helpful until spring arrives on the East Coast.
