There are so many great options for spring break travel that it doesn’t matter if you like the city, the country, the coast or the mountains. But the one thing most of us agree on when it comes to spring break is that we all want sunny weather. This spring, international travel has become more complicated because of the coronavirus. Many travelers are scrambling to change their plans, or are considering making a change, to avoid taking any risky chances. The good news: even if you don’t feel comfortable taking a trip overseas there are plenty of places worth considering for a sunny spring break getaway:

Havana, Cuba, boasts almost seven hours of sunshine each day and approximately 2,150 hours of sun annually. The temperature averages between 73 to 82 degrees in the spring and visitors can enjoy a fascinating and colorful city that is still novel and unexplored by most Americans. A perfect recipe for spring break fun.
This group of islands in Senegal offers visitors a taste of Portugal, which makes sense as the Portuguese started settling here in the 15th century. Sal is the best-known of the Cape Verde islands, with plenty of hotels and restaurants. Temperatures average about 70 degrees with plenty of spring break sunshine.
Nicknamed ‘Sunny Nelson,” this city on the South Island faces Tasman Bay and receives the most sunshine hours per year (2,500) in all of New Zealand. Abel Tasmanian National Park is a major tourist destination, but there are more remote places close by if you are searching for a quieter spring break destination away from crowds and tourists.

This island nation in the Indian Ocean is a sun lover’s dream. The temperature is almost always 68 degrees with pristine beaches, waterfalls, reefs and hiking trails just waiting to be explored. This is a particularly great spring break destination if you are looking to enjoy a sporty, active vacation.
