When you want to take a vacation, but you don't have anyone to travel with, don't let that stop you. The truth is that there are so many places where you can go on vacation alone and still have a great time. Here are some of the best places to travel solo, especially in the spring.

Beaver Creek in Colorado
Outdoor enthusiasts have discovered the beauty of Colorado's Beaver Creek. Located in the Rocky Mountains, you can get there using an express shuttle service that picks you up from Denver International Airport. If you take the shuttle to Beaver Creek and stay at the Beaver Creek Resort, you get complimentary transportation within its grounds. The weather is almost always conducive to mountain hiking or biking. You can even borrow a horse and ride it right up to the resort's Beano's Cabin. The other popular dining destination at the resort is the Beaver Creek Chophouse.

Santa Barbara, California
Santa Barbara is also a city in California that is conducive to solo travel. Many people are attracted to the city for its wine tasting and shopping. A local hotspot known as The Funk Zone includes not only wineries but art galleries and a thriving nightlife scene. You can even make your way to Solvang and Los Olivos, nearby cities that also host wine tastings. For a workout, you can take a hike through the Santa Ynez Mountains.
San Diego, California
San Diego is a solo traveler's dream come true. Pacific Beach is where you go surfing and sunbathing. La Jolla offers quality shopping and lets you view seals up close. Your nights will fly by at the Gaslamp Quarter, where San Diego comes alive after dark. A visit to San Diego also isn't complete without a visit to the local zoo. You can also take a leisurely walk through Balboa Park.
Ashville, North Carolina
If you enjoy the art scene, you owe it to yourself to take a trip to Asheville, North Carolina. It boasts over 30 art galleries, and there are plenty of other things for solo travelers to do as well. Popular activities include fly-fishing, hiking, kayaking, and biking. The town also has tons of well-known restaurants and bars where you can try a wide variety of local beers.

Cayman Islands
The Cayman Islands is known for its friendly residents that greet tourists with open arms. It is an excellent place for a solo vacation because you won't feel like you are there alone. Grand Cayman has a lot to offer that you can easily enjoy on your own. Getting around is easy thanks to public transportation and the availability of taxis. You can meet up with a local operator for scuba diving and snorkeling. Other attractions include the Seven Mile Beach and the Kimpton Seafire Resort and Spa. The other major attraction is Stingray City, which you can get to using charter transportation. When you get there, you can carefully pet the stingrays. And no matter what you do on the Cayman Islands, it is one of the best places to enjoy ideal weather conditions.
Portland Oregon
Portland, Oregon, is one place you can travel alone without feeling lonely. Getting around the city is easy, and you will find that locals most often travel by bike. You also have the option of streetcars and Light Rail. While you are there, you can explore the city's many breweries and countless neighborhoods with a lot to offer. Solo travelers will feel comfortable at Powell's City of Books and the Portland Japanese Garden.

Paris, France
One of the best countries to visit on solo travel is France. Specifically, Paris is a city where traveling alone is no big deal. The mass transit system includes plenty of buses and trains. You can also score a museum pass that gets you into famous ones like the Musee d'Orsay, the Musee du Louvre, and the Centre Pompidou. And if you stay at The Hotel Indigo Paris - Opera you are near many of the Paris' biggest attractions.
Iceland
Not to be overlooked, Iceland is also a great place to travel. There is a lot more to offer here than The Northern Lights. You can participate in many outdoor activities, including hiking, spelunking, ice climbing, and cycling. Most visitors to Iceland enter through the Reykjavik Airport, which puts them in the middle of everything. Near the airport is the best place to find Iceland's many museums, cafes, art galleries and shops. You can venture further away from the airport to see various waterfalls, hot springs, and glaciers.
