Most accurate weather forecaster adds three to broadcast team during a period of steady growth across multiple platforms

AccuWeather Global Weather Center, April 21, 2021 — AccuWeather Network today announced the addition of three new team members strengthening broadcast and operational capabilities to continue high-quality, award-winning programming.

The latest additions to AccuWeather Network’s team include Jessica Pash, who comes to AccuWeather after spending two years as a meteorologist for FOX43 in York, PA, covering all of Pennsylvania’s weather-related activity including severe storms, major flooding and snowstorms. Prior to FOX43 Pash was a forecaster for WDTV in Clarksburg, WV. In 2017, Pash graduated from Rutgers with a B.S. in Meteorology and a minor in Business Administration.

Also joining the AccuWeather team is Michael Vojtko, the Network’s newest show producer after having spent 10 years producing segments at WTTG, Washington, D.C., in addition to previous positions at WJZ in Baltimore, MD and WNEP in Scranton, PA.  Vojtko is a graduate of East Stroudsburg University.

Michelle Rotella joins the team at AccuWeather after spending nearly a decade in forecasting for local television stations including WNEP-TV in Scranton, PA, WTXL in Tallahassee, FL, WTTG in Washington, D.C., and WCCB Charlotte, NC where she was voted “Favorite Local TV Meteorologist.”  Rotella holds a BS in Meteorology with a minor in Mathematics from Florida State University and obtained her Certified Broadcast Meteorologist Seal of Approval from the American Meteorological Society in 2016.

“We are thrilled to add these talented individuals to our growing roster,” said AccuWeather Network General Manager Sarah Katt. “As we expand our reach into millions more households, covering critical, breaking weather news, we are determined to provide our viewers with the same level of high-caliber content they have grown to rely on and trust.”

The expanding AccuWeather Network also elevated two internal team members, recognizing their considerable efforts and contributions made to the award-winning content group. Trisha Gates has been promoted to Senior Videographer/Asset Manager with a heightened role in field content and in-house production, and Doug Hicks expands his purview as Senior Planning Producer in helping to shape editorial strategy.

The AccuWeather Network, which reaches millions of viewers via Spectrum TV, DIRECTV, AT&T TV NOW, Verizon Fios, Philo, fuboTV and Frontier cable, is a 24/7 weather news channel that delivers the latest breaking weather news coverage and local forecast information as well as compelling and dynamic weather news content, including hyper-local forecasts, advanced severe weather warnings and weather preparedness tips and tools. After several years of developing and refining our offering, 2020 has been a year of significant growth. Today, the AccuWeather Network is available in 36 million+ households and growing.

Recently, AccuWeather Network was honored by trade publisher Cablefax with an industry award celebrating its achievements in producing superior weather content for cable television, winning the category of “Best Overall Content; Weather News for Hurricane Delta Eye Wall Live Coverage” and finishing as a finalist for “Best Live Virtual Event for AccuWeather Ready: 2020 Hurricane Season During COVID-19.” In addition, the AccuWeather Network was also recognized with a 2020 Mid-Atlantic Emmy Award for Best Environment/Science – News Single Story or Series; Cynopsis Media “Best of the Best Awards” in 2019 in the categories of Best-Ad Supported Cable Network and Best Short Form Content; in 2018 for Best Short Form Content; and it was the recipient of the Telly Award for Best General News or Feature in 2019.
