AccuWeather Recognizes Middle-School Students for their Inspiring Fundraising Efforts for Make-a-Wish® Organization

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. June 15, 2009 - Evan Myers, Chief Operating Officer of AccuWeather, Inc., the world's leading multimedia weather information source and chief sponsor of the AccuWeather.com Centre County Make-A-Wish Gala, recently presented a commemorative plaque to a Bellefonte Area Middle School student organization to congratulate them on their superior fundraising efforts.

"It's an honor to meet with such inspiring kids and see their dedication to making a difference in the lives of other children," Myers said. "Thanks to their efforts and efforts of people like them the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Pennsylvania and Southern West Virginia has been able to fulfill more than 10,000 wishes. The students, led by student adviser and sixth-grade teacher Michael Stone, raised over $25,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. This is the second consecutive year they have raised more than $20,000 for the Foundation. All money raised by the students will stay in Centre County.
