New hyper-local features include projected drive times, customizable street labeling, AccuWeather MinuteCast™, and Traffic Cam integration to help viewers. AccuWeather Global Weather Center – April 9, 2014 – The enhanced and expanded StoryTeller INRIX Traffic App now offers newsrooms a wider range of groundbreaking travel features, in addition to up-to-the-minute traffic conditions for every highway, interstate, and local road across North America, powered by INRIX.

The StoryTeller® INRIX Traffic App now delivers an expanded range of features including projected drive times, customizable street labeling, the use of Webcams and sensors from any source for remote updates and visual reporting, and MinuteCast™, a feature exclusive to AccuWeather brand partners, for precipitation start and end times. “We’re dedicated to giving newsrooms using StoryTeller real advantages in their markets by helping them grab and keep viewer attention with the highest quality, most up-to-date traffic presentations,” said Ryan Ayres, Vice President of Display Systems and Services for AccuWeather, Inc. “Building on the success of our INRIX Traffic App, we’ve added enhancements that allow on-air talent to present breaking traffic information that you won’t find anywhere else, such as precipitation start and end times and integration of local traffic cams and sensors for on-the-ground views of local traffic delays.”

Powered by INRIX, the leading provider of traffic services, the Traffic App analyzes real-time data from over a hundred sources including road sensors, traffic cameras, and official accident and incident reports to help your viewers save time, fuel, and frustration every day. The app is perfect for highlighting traffic-snarling events, construction, accidents, and weather. In addition to the new features, the app includes traffic information for more than one million miles of North American roadways, accurate road closure information, travel times, special event updates, weather forecasts, and radar overlays. The INRIX Traffic App can be downloaded and added to the StoryTeller Interactive Touchscreen Newsroom Solution as easily as an app can be added to a smartphone. . StoryTeller INRIX Traffic App will be demonstrated live on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. PT at AccuWeather Booth SL-6819. Please join us at NAB 2014 for live demos of this and additional StoryTeller interactive applications. As space will be limited, please plan on arriving 15 minutes early. You can also contact us to reserve your space or schedule a private demonstration.
