Rain, at times heavy, is expected.
A low pressure system moving eastward from BC will spread heavy rain through parts of northwestern Alberta today. Current indications are that most areas will see less than 50 mm of rain however an east-west line from the BC border through Spirit River to Falher could see amounts approaching 60 mm. There is a chance this line could shift southward which could lead to the warning being expanded to the south into the Sexsmith area. Heavy rain will begin to ease this evening before tapering off by Sunday morning.
Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.
Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.
